Information for presenters

Presentation times are in time zone CEST

Information for presenters in a parallel session

Presenters in parallel sessions will offered 12 minutes for their presentation and approximately 3 minutes for discussion (15 minutes in total). After each session you will be assigned to individual breakout rooms for answering questions for an extra 10 minutes.

A parallel session includes in general 5 papers in 75 minutes. Presenters are asked to prepare a maximum of 6 to 7 slides and should emphasize the most pertinent components of their research: the main aim of their research and its most important findings. The presentation should stimulate the audience to read the paper and to get in contact with presenters to talk about details of the project, either in the discussion part of the session, or later.

Two chairs will be assigned to each parallel session. Chair 1 will be in charge of introducing the session and speakers, and will facilitate the Q&A after each presentation. Chair 2 will be in charge of enforcing the time limits. Both chairs will familiarize themselves with the papers that will be presented to ensure a lively discussion.

You will receive instructions on how to get access to the virtual platform and the individual sessions shortly before the start of the conference.

Information for presenters in a poster session

These virtual poster sessions will be a new innovative feature of the conference. We will be scheduling two online Poster sessions of 30 minutes each, with 15 posters assigned to each 30-minutes time slot. During an individual zoom session, you will be able to share your poster on the screen (using the screensharing feature). Researchers interested in your poster will be able to join you in your session, replicating as closely as possible the in-presence poster presentation concept.

Make your virtual poster attractive. It should be as self-explanatory as possible and supplement the information it contains. To reach this aim, make it clear, structured, concise, and attractive. Limit the text to a strict minimum. We recommend using an A4-landscape-format (or larger) to share during your session. Please see the example below of a good academic research poster template.
