Invited flash talk sessions:
Introduced a few years ago, flash talk sessions consist of high profile presentations around a theme. These sessions have invited speakers. After a brief explanation of the format by the session organizer, each speaker has 5-minutes to present along with one slide, followed by 5 minutes of discussion. There will be a few minutes for additional discussion at the end. Each parallel Invited Flash Talk session will have seven presentations in total. This year we offer the following flash talk topics:
- FT1: Mental health and the labour market
- FT2: What future for vocational education?
- FT3: Covid-19 and the labour market

Parallel on-line sessions:
Parallel sessions will consist of 5 papers, each of them will be allocated 12 minutes for presentation and 3 minutes for discussion. At the end of  this session, each presenter will be assigned to individual break out rooms for answering questions or continue the discussion for an extra 10 minutes. (See also Information for presenters)

Parallel on-line job market sessions:
In Job market sessions, job market candidates in the field of Labour Economics, will present their job market paper. The format of the sessions is like the parallel on-line sessions. (See also Information for presenters)

On-line poster sessions:
These virtual poster sessions will be a new innovative feature of the conference replicating as closely as possible the in-presence poster presentation concept. We will be scheduling two online Poster sessions, with 15 posters assigned to each a 30-minutes time slot. During an individual zoom session, poster presenters will share their poster on the screen (using the screensharing feature). Participants interested in your poster will be able to join them and ask questions. (See also Information for presenters)

Junior/Senior network sessions:
This session format gives early career researchers the opportunity to talk to senior labor economists. Registered network session participants, will be allocated to the session topic based on their 1st or 2nd preference, of a topic during indicated when registering for the conference. They will be informed by the EALE secretariat to which topic they are assigned.

All the assigned hosts will start the session and welcome the participants and give a very short introduction of themselves and expertise.  After this introduction, the hosts and participants will be divided to break out rooms. The selection of participants to hosts will be at random and limited to max. 10 persons. Participants are asked to prepare a short introduction of themselves (max 2 minutes), as well as 1 or 2 questions related to their research or aspects of academia and the field they would like to know about.

Junior only sessions:
Early career researchers will also have the opportunity to participate  in more informal sessions where they can meet other early career researchers. Session hosts and participants are very flexible in what conversations could be about and leave them the freedom to launch topics of discussion. Examples could be discussing experiences during the conference, talk about interesting papers and any other issues that might be interesting/of interest to them. Hosts can also assign smaller groups into breakout rooms if they would like to encourage smaller group discussions. Registered participants for this session will be randomly assigned to a host.

Job market meet & greet event:
Our 2021 candidates will present themselves in a 3 minutes pitch to the audience.
